EXTERIOR
The Volante’s sleek lines are made possible by sophisticated design and engineering, resulting in an open-topped car with a clean, flowing profile. This example presents beautifully in glistening Onyx Black Metallic – our studio photographs really don’t do it justice. With only 7k miles under its belt the condition of the car is truly stunning; aside from only the lightest of marking low down on the rear arches the body and soft-top are absolutely pristine. The current owner is a real perfectionist and has always kept the car garaged when not in use.
INTERIOR
Aston Martin has always stood for exceptional levels of craftsmanship and, true to form, the DB9’s cabin is a feast for the senses. The sublime combination of hand-crafted materials results in an incomparable ambience. The spotless Cream Truffle leather sports seats are delicately stitched with contrasting black, a theme that extends to the door cards and centre console. The attention to detail is tremendous and pleasingly there are no signs of use to be found anywhere.
ENGINE AND TRANSMISSION
Aston Martins have always sounded like true thoroughbreds and the DB9 is no exception – the 6-litre V12 has been described as one of the finest-sounding engines in production. Better still, this particular example boasts the desirable DB9 GT power upgrade (unleashing around 540hp) and sports exhaust muffler, meaning optimal performance with the greatest of soundtracks.
The six-speed ‘Touchtronic 2’ fully automatic transmission uses shift-by-wire technology and replaces the conventional gear lever with dashboard-mounted buttons to select Park, Reverse, Neutral and Drive modes. The result is sophisticated yet intuitive: quick and easy to use and providing instant response to driver input.
The car has driven only 7, 649 miles from new. Even with this extremely low mileage the service booklet is complete with six Aston Martin main dealer stamps, the last service having been competed in April 2019 at 7, 590 miles. The car drives faultlessly and wants for nothing.
WHEELS, TYRES AND BRAKES
The DB9 sits on 20-inch five-spoke alloys shod in matching Pirelli rubber. The wheels are without any marking and the tyres show plenty of tread remaining having seen just 7k miles of use. The large carbon-ceramic brakes preform effortlessly on test and the unblemished black-painted calipers look very smart indeed.
HISTORY FILE
This impeccable example was first registered in April 2013 and has now driven just 7, 649 miles in the hands of three careful owners. The car is accompanied by full Aston Martin service history with six main dealer stamps in the book. The most recent service was carried out by Aston Martin Chichester in April 2019 just 59 miles ago. The MOT is valid until April 2020.
