It is very rare to find a Mark 7 that has had very few owners, low mileage and has never been fully restored, we have a file of receipts for servicing and parts e. t. c.. The previous owner recommissioned it after purchasing it from the original owners family and spent a considerable amount of time and money on the brake system, overhauling the instruments and fitting a Double S stainless steel exhaust system. The very original usable patinated condition makes this rare as most have been restored by now or been scrapped. The paintwork shows marks and flaws and has discoloured areas but is solid and presentable, one could improve these easily or do a full repaint either in this original colour or change it to a darker colour such as navy blue which would make it much more imposing and considerably more valuable. The interior is in smart useable original condition. The 3, 442cc engine starts instantly and sounds lovely and performs superbly as do the brakes and the gearbox, no journey would worry the owner, a number of spares are included and it has the unique tool kit in the drivers door with only one spanner missing.
The owner has recently started stripping some of the paint blemishes and has applied red oxide on the nearside as shown in photograph 6, he has now decided to sell as is due to other commitments, this has lead to the large reduction in price which is now fixed. A full respray would totally transform this Mark 7.
These large Jags are extremely under rated, they were named the Mark 7 due to Bentley already making the Mk VI, they really out perform the Bentley in most aspects, especially with the XK engine and manual gearbox which genuinely offers 100 mph performance, it even looks like a 4 door Bentley R-Type Continental. This example has a H. M. V. radio, detachable rear spats, semaphore side pop out indicators linked to the side lights, counter rotating rev counter, smiths instruments, split windscreen, sunshine roof, twin petrol tank fillers and badge bar with A. A. badge.
