Hello and welcome to my advert for a beautiful 1996 Bentley Brooklands Automatic.
Below you will find a full and accurate description of the vehicle warts and all. We are a prestige car dealership and this vehicle has just come in as a part exchange. We have road-tested the vehicle thoroughly and checked the car over so our description is a true and honest representation of the car you are buying. Please note although we are a garage this vehicle is too old for us to sell and warrant so it is sold on a trade/ private basis with no warranty given or implied, but we are honest with our descriptions.
The original four-page factory ‘build sheet’ which, together with mountains of invoices and information about the car, is presented in the form of a leather-bound Bentley Brooklands book outlines the following;
Main Paint: Sherwood Mica Basecoat
Fine Line Type: Thin over Thick Fine Lines
Fine Line Colour: Sandstone Fine Lines
Main Trim: Sandstone Hide
Seat Piping Colour: Spruce
Headlining: Sandstone Hide
Top Roll: Spruce

It actually lists all the interior trim, suffice it to say, it is all finished in Sandstone Hide.
It also specifies all the standard features of the vehicle and states under ‘Options and Extras’ that it has Sports Style Seats and it was to be fitted with performance brakes and Turbo wheels and tyres which come under the heading ‘Production Deviations’.
The book offers fascinating reading on its own but the there is of course more. This includes a Bentley Brooklands owner’s handbook, in its case, Rolls-Royce Bentley service book and Motorola International 2500 handbook for the cool retro telephone in the rear armrest. Plus, there is a wallet with the advert and pictures from when was purchased from Bentley Leeds by its last keeper in 2010 when it had covered 100, 747 miles, and yet another file with paperwork and invoices collected during his ownership

If you bothered to count, that is 22 services. Even better, not listed above but in the invoice file there is a bill for the head gaskets being replaced at 119, 020 miles in 2014 plus other general maintenance receipts in 2015.
The current mileage is 130, 683 miles though this may go up as I use it.
The car looks beautiful throughout. Both bodywork and interior are in excellent condition and belie its age and mileage. It simply never fails to attract admiring glances and positive comments.
In more detail, the bodywork has been lovingly treated over the years and there are various receipts for cosmetics as you would expect which have helped keep it looking so great. Importantly, whilst there are odd stone-chips and blemishes here and there, none of them really detract from the cars overall appearance and all the wheelarches and the notoriously susceptible C-Pillar bottoms are rock solid. Please be aware though it is not a concours example, it would be at least twice the price if it were. What it is a lovely looking Bentley that you are not afraid to drive. The car comes with both indoor and outdoor covers which cost a fortune to buy.
The interior is simply wonderful. The hide is of exceptional quality and is in superb condition with only gentle wear. All the woodwork is exemplary and though the standard leather Bentley gearshift is fitted, a genuine, expensive, Bentley wooden one is included in the sale. The carpets are excellent. The only issue is on the transmission tunnel where your left foot rests and it has worn through but this isn’t really too visible when the lambswool overmats are in place. If these are too luxurious for everyday use, there is a set of fitted carpet mats and a set of rubber ones that come with the car too.
The remote key fobs don’t work but the key can be used to open and lock the car easily enough. They may just need new batteries?
The car starts on the button and once it has run through its system checks your ready to go. On the move the car purrs along, feels ‘tight’ and handles just as you’d hope for. All the cabins electrics and gauges operate correctly and the air-conditioning is ice-cold.
This genuinely is a no expense spared machine and I very much doubt there is a Bentley Brooklands available with better provenance than this one. I have tried to describe it as accurately as possible but please be aware that there will always be jobs to do on a vehicle of this age.
