motodrome offer for sale this really high spec 2003 Land Rover Defender 90 TD5 XS Station Wagon 6 seater, finished in Java black with black trim.
A genuine XS station wagon not a conversion from a van , it’s fitted with: air conditioning, cold climate pack inc. heated front seats and windscreen, ABS and traction control, boost alloys with a matching set of 5 BF Goodrich all-terrain tyres, masai sidesteps, sliding side windows and alpine lights, remote alarmed central locking with immobiliser, electric front windows, bulkhead removal bar, , uprated locking centre cubby box, mudflaps all round, and towpack.
External upgrades include LED headlights, black chequerplate to wingtops and modesty covers, snorkel, light guards front and rear, steering guard and front recovery shackles, snow cowl, and rear worklight.
Internally it’s been recently fitted with upgraded Exmoor Trim premium high-back front seats, uprated cubby box, mudstuff roof console, and a superb Alpine stereo system with integrated satnav, DAB and Bluetooth phone capability. We’ve also left the fitted waterproof covers on the folding half-leather rear seats
Mechanically standard save for sports exhaust system and twin battery set up.
The previous owner (a real Defender enthusiast and a long standing customer of ours) bought it in 2014 when it had done 80000 miles, to commute daily on the motorway from Newbury to London. It’s odometer reading is now 177000 miles, and he reports it’s never missed a beat in that time. However he understands the importance of regular servicing, and since 2014 it’s been religiously serviced by Newbury 4x4.
Regarding the service history, we have the original service book with 16 stamps in it, all by main dealer or specialist, and a truly massive sheaf of supporting bills. Last serviced by Newbury 4x4 on 12/ 11/ 19 at 174853m.
The last MOT had an advisory of ‘rear crossmember starting to corrode’ so at the same time as the service was done, Newbury 4x4 supplied and fitted a new heavy-duty rear crossmember with extensions.
Being a factory TD5 version, it nips along very quickly with good punch from the Turbodiesel motor, and being a 2003 model it’s fitted with the later 15P engine.
Comes with MOT to November 2020 and 6 months warranty too.
Decent 90 TD5 XS station wagons are thin on the ground, and in my opinion this is a thoroughly-sorted example.
