motodrome are pleased to offer GB263, a 1998/ S reg Land Rover Defender 50th Anniversary 4. 0 V8, as usual finished in Atlantis Metallic.
Comes with the nice ‘S500 DEF’ plate as shown in the photos.
50ths are fitted as standard with automatic transmission, anti-roll bars, air conditioning, factory Safari rollcage, cubbybox, lowered rear bulkhead, NAS rear step, full-length chrome sidesteps, and pewter alloy wheels (shod with BFG all-terrains) all of which this retains.
It’s further fitted with a fully-functional LPG system (but runs equally well on petrol) , colour coded grille and light surrounds, uprated headlights, DRL front bumper, snorkel, rear window grilles, electric front windows, sports exhaust, mudflaps all round, and radio/ CD.
Mechanically standard bar hi-lift camshaft and powerflow exhaust.
It was fitted with later, new, all-steel doors in 2012 which don’t rust like the earlier type, being of a better design, before being treated to a full respray in the original colour.
Supplied by us to the last owner in 2013, he’s had 6 years of fun with it and reports it’s been totally reliable. In 2015 he sent it to Nene Overland for an overhaul including (but not limited to)
• New rear crossmember
• New suspension all round
• New brake discs and pads all round
• New wheels
• New headlining and carpets
• New front bumper with integrated DRLs
Odometer reading now 131000 miles.
The LPG system is certificated and registered with UKLPG. In 2014 it was treated to a new 90 litre LPG tank and valves by a specialist.
It comes with MOT to October 2020 and 6 months warranty on sale. .
It looks absolutely stunning, and drives superbly with a lovely exhaust note.
We said in our video presentations that the service history was mistakenly en route to America. I’m pleased to report that the previous owner has been as good as his word and returned the service history to us, comprising the original 50th book pack with the original service book showing 13 stamps, and a file of bills, old MOT’s etc dating back to 2000.
