Owned by an Esprit enthusiast since 2006, this interesting 3. 5 litre V8, twin turbo machine is now available for the next custodian.
The car has a full, documented service history back to new and has only had four owners since being registered in October 1998. It has covered 84, 000 miles and has had over £35, 000 spent on it in the last five years.
In 2009 the car was involved in a bump, it's registered as a Cat D insurance loss, and it was rebuilt and put back on the road. In 2011 it was completed repainted Calypso red from the original British Racing Green and the finish remains immaculate barring some stone chipping on the sills.
A checkover by Esprit specialists Max 500 Ltd in 2015 resulted in a total engine rebuild along with new turbos and a new clutch. The bill is long and detailed and comes to £19, 300. By 2016 the chassis was looking weary and a complete new Lotus chassis was fitted, again, with lots of extra work and this cost in the region of £15, 000. The cam belts were replaced at the last service in September 2019 by Max 500.
An uprated CD player is fitted, a Cat 1 alarm, along with a full width removable glass sunroof, electric windows and mirrors, and a Momo steering wheel. A Larini exhaust is fitted which sounds awesome.
The owner has used the Esprit and he has had it maintained correctly and with little regard to cost so that he could enjoy the car.
