The Alfa SZ, built between 1989-1991, was an attempt to revive Alfa Romeo’s spotting heritage. Initial design was by Robert Opron, famous also for the design of the Citroen SM, while final details and interior were designed by Antonio Castellana. It was built by Zagato using unconventional thermo-plactic injection moulded composite body panels, helping achieve a low kerb weight of 1, 260kg. Suspension was from the Alfa 75 Grp A/ IMSA car, modified by Giorgio Pianta, manager and designer for the Lancia world rally team, and used a Koni damper system. Needles to say the cars handling is superb with measurements of 1. 1-1. 4G achieved under testing. The engine was the legendary Busso V6, one of the most sonorous and revered engines of all time. In this model producing 207bhp, which given the aforementioned light weight and handling made for a serious drivers machine.

This particular example was supplied new in Italy and remained there for approximately 12 years. At this point it was sold by Alfa Romeo agent AFRA of Milan to a collector in Hong Kong with assistance from a HK based Alfa Romeo specialist.

Comes with original handbook pack which includes the original handbooks and service book. The original Cerificato di Collaudo is included in its own leather SZ booklet as is the original SZ cover which were supplied with these cars from new.
