The VW Beetle convertibles were manufactured at the Karmann plant in Osnabruck, Germany. Karmann was a coachworks company before the advent of the horseless carriage and specialized in hand-made custom motorized vehicles. Volkswagen contracted them to make several unique cars based on the standard beetle chassis, including the Beetle convertibles, Type III, Thing, and the low profile "Ghia" sports car.
In 1977 and 1978, VW issued only two"Champagne Edition" convertibles to each US dealership, also known as a "Special US Sales Campaign" model S723
The front windshield is in excellent condition. The paint is in great shape and condition. No dings are visible on this vehicle. The tires are slightly worn with about 75% of tread life left. The interior was well maintained and is extra clean. The exterior was well maintained and is extra clean. The engine is functioning properly and has no issues. This vehicle has no previous collision damage. The transmission shifts very smoothly. The brakes are in great condition.
