motodrome are pleased to offer GB366, a 1998/ S reg Land Rover Defender 50th Anniversary 4. 0 V8, as usual finished in Atlantis Metallic.
50ths are fitted as standard with automatic transmission, anti-roll bars, air conditioning, factory Safari rollcage, cubbybox, deleted rear bulkhead , NAS rear step, full-length chrome sidesteps, and pewter alloy wheels (shod with BFG all-terrains) all of which this retains.
This one has just emerged from a full refurbishment by an expert in the model, and has, unlike most of them, been returned to as original a specification as possible to when it was new, with no dubious ‘personalisation’ added, and should now be one of the finest on the market..
The restorer tells us that he elected to keep it on the original chassis rather than go for a galvanised replacement, as in his opinion the chassis is in really good condition and originality was the over-riding aim.
He further tells us that the restoration included:
• Full chassis inside and out dinitrol treatment by dinitrol fully authorized centre
• Bulkhead and all voids dinitrol treated
• New correct-period doors all round
• New glass all round
• New rubber seals all round
• New body cappings (both sides)
• Full bare metal respray
• Refurbished alloys
• New tyres
And mechanically
• Engine and transmission stripped and reconditioned where necessary
• New fuel lines
• New discs and calipers all round
• New shocks and springs
And interior
• New old stock seats and carpet
• New headlining
Odometer reading just 85000 miles, supported by history including 10 stamps in the original service book, and with the special 50th book pack. Last serviced at 84765m in October 2019 by a Land Rover specialist.
It comes with MOT to March 2021 and 6 months warranty on sale. .
