Beschreibung
1935 Riley Kestrel Boat Tail.
Registration Number: MJ9040
Bodied in the early 1980's, this Riley is in beautiful & completely sorted driving order. The current owner a retired railway engineer has gone though the car from stem to stern rebuilding & replacing every component as required.
The engine is the traditional Riley twin cam which really is a jewel of an engine; starting instantly & pulling strongly. Coachwork takes the form of a pleasing boat tail roadster fashioned from polished aluminium with room for 4 passengers. An aluminium cowl covers the rear seats when not in use giving a sleek look to the whole ensemble.
Drive is via a 4 speed pre-selector gear box & is a dleight to use once mastered. To the interior are brown hide covered seats with matching carpets. The usual Riley instumentation is in situ on the dash board. Tremendous attention to period detail has gone into this car & its appearance is attention getting.
The best part of this car is the way it drives. The mechanics are utterly & completely sorted. On the road it has a tight taut rattle free ride feelingmore akin to a modern car. It is charming, stylish, unusual & rakish.
