Pretty as a picture with its red paintwork, round arches and Rostyle steel wheels, this 1972 MG Midget has a lot going for it.
Not only is it the prettiest of the Midget models, this one has been in single ownership since 2002 and has had dry use only and has always been garaged. During this time, whatever work has been needed has been carried out and the car runs extremely well with a throaty exhaust via the long centre branch exhaust manifold (MG Owners' Club supplied). Four new tyres have hardly had any use. Very minor work has been done for annual MOTs, and it has just been serviced and received a new MOT. The car comes with a comprehensive history file which includes its MOT history since 1986.
The recorded mileage is 41, 500 miles which is believed to be correct.
The Mk III Midget is one of the nicest small sports cars to drive and its 65bhp, well-matched gear ratios and light weight give it a lively performance. The wind-up windows and easy-up hood give it a little of the sophistication the earlier cars are lacking. This one is in genuine condition and with summer here this has to be an appealing car for anyone wanting a practical classic that is attractive, fun, and easy to live with.
