EXTERIOR
Finished in a lustrous coat of menacing black, the bodywork is very presentable all round with a lovely deep shine to report. Unlike many classic Range Rovers let down by serious corrosion, this handsome UK example has always been well looked after and has avoided falling into disrepair. There are no major scuffs or scrapes to any of the bumpers, and the underside is also in very clean condition. The car benefits from handy side steps and protective guards over the front and rear lights, which are a great cosmetic addition. Genuinely good low mileage examples such as this are now rare to find, and this has to be one of the best colour combos available.
INTERIOR
The Range Rover’s cabin is finished with supple grey leather and glossy burr Walnut trim. Being a desirable ‘soft dash’ model this example is equipped with driver and passenger airbags. Sat inside, the interior still looks particularly sharp. The seat upholstery shows few signs of use and there’s no damage or sagging to the headlining. The seats front and rear are equipped with individual folding armrests while the front seats are also heated and electrically-adjustable. At the rear the boot area is absolutely spot-on, still complete with the spare wheel and folding parcel shelf.
ENGINE AND TRANSMISSION
The 3. 9-litre V8 fires into life with a purposeful growl. Often these engines are replaced with larger displacement units but here the correct V8 is pleasingly still present. On test, the diff and 4x4 system all work as they should, and the smooth four-speed auto ‘box operates very well indeed.
WHEELS, BRAKES AND TYRES
The two-tone alloys look fantastic finished in black, all presenting in excellent condition with no unsightly curb marking to report. They are wrapped in a matching set of rugged Yokohama tyres, all with at least 7mm of tread remaining.
HISTORY
This handsome ‘soft dash’ V8 Vogue SE was first registered in June 1994. It has now driven just 59k miles in the hands of only five keepers. The History File is complete with the original Range Rover document wallet, all owners’ manuals, the original service booklet with eleven stamps, invoices, MOT certificates, and the April 2020 issue of ‘Modern Classics’ in which this particular car was featured.
