We are delighted to present for sale a new John Brown 4×4 Special Edition – The ‘Scarab’.
Externally, the vehicle is finished in Satin Black, complete with Black Canvas and wheel arch extenders. Wheel spacers have been fitted in addition to BF Goodrich Mud Terrain tyres for a tall & wide stance. A military bumper, with front bumperettes is fitted to give a striking look from all angles. Defender mirrors are fitted for additional rear visibility. To the rear, there is a swing-away wheel carrier complete with spare tyre with John Brown 4×4 wheel cover, and rear grabhandles. The cappings are painted black, to match the bodywork. This gives a unique and distinct appearance – and really turns heads out on the road.
The interior has a pleasing deluxe feel – there is a full deluxe interior carpeting set, with deluxe matting on top of this to protect the trim. The front houses two deluxe seats, with middle cubby-box for storage, complete with cupholders – handy for those Costa & McDonalds trips!. There are 3 point seat belts fitted (colour coded red!) to set off the look and provide safety and comfort. The rear houses a pair of bench seats, with a load mat to the floor, to allow seating for six occupants including the driver. The rear tailgate is side opening to allow for easier loading and to help people get in and out quickly!
Out on the road, this truck really shifts – the 300TDI engine is a joy, and pulls like a train. There is an overdrive fitted to give additional fuel economy, higher top speed, and lower cruising revs – the larger than standard tyres assist further to give this vehicle all the tools it needs to keep with modern traffic. Parabolic Springs assist with the ride and give more comfort than the standard leaf springs. The additional reliability is also a big bonus and is more suited to frequent use than a period setup.
In summary then, if you are looking for a Series Land Rover® that is a little bit different, then this could be for you.
