Motodrome offer for sale this utterly charming 1961 example of the ever-popular Land Rover Series II, this one an 88in petrol model in possibly the prettiest configuration – a truck cab.
This one has had just one private owner since 1989 – a full 31 years, which probably helps account for it’s originality and well-preserved nature
Spec-wise it’s fitted with: deluxe bonnet, freewheel front hubs, a set of 5 Dunlop 600 x 16 tyres, roof vent, mudflaps all round, and towbars front and rear.
Inside it has full deluxe interior inc matting and door panels, and Smiths round heater.
It’s also fitted with some nice period extras including front fog and spot lights, AA/ RAC badges, wing mirrors, radio, screenwash, drivers ashtray etc
We have a rear tilt frame for it, (but not the canvas) and a period wooden load space floor protector, although these aren’t shown in the photos.
Odometer reading 75000 miles, and as mentioned, it’s only had one private owner since 1989. Unusually, it’s still fitted with it’s original 151-prefix 2. 25 petrol engine, which runs like a sewing machine.
We also have the original buff logbook.
Overall it’s a really period-correct example that drives superbly.
