Manufactured in June 1965 and registered in July of that year, CNH clearly did not linger long in the show rooms of Henlys of London. And as the iconic coupe version of the world’s most popular classic car, in this year of the E Type’s 60th anniversary, we doubt she will be with us for too long either.
When the E Type first appeared it really rewrote the rule book not only for a sports car but for the motor industry in general. In almost every technical aspect it excelled. Ride and handling, performance per pound Stirling and obviously in it sheer beauty. Even Enzo Ferrari had to admit his cars were by comparison, behind the curve. Little wonder that the cars became the success they have become.
Roll forward 60 years and CNH, now finished in the classic Gun Metal colour, so popular with E Type enthusiasts, has recently undergone a thorough preparation through our workshops and is ready to be enjoyed this summer.
Benefiting from a photographic restoration between 2011 and 2014, and subsequently being purchased by the recording artist Jay Kay, this car is not only in terrific mechanical condition but also benefits from a good back ground story and comprehensive history file.
We think this is one of the best driving E Types out there with all the benefits of a later Series 1 car including the synchromesh gearbox and some nice later upgrades. You will not be disappointed.
