This magnificent XJ40 has just arrived in stock with us this week. A genuine 50k mile example from new that is quite simply in absolutely unbelievable condition throughout.
The primary reason for the super condition of this car is the fact that it has lived the majority of its life in the warm climate of Jersey.
It has a service record and history folder that would embarrass a car marketed well into six figures. The last owner obtained a heritage certificate from the Jaguar enthusiasts club confirming the vehicle is still as per its factory specification and retains the original engine, gearbox and body.
The service history contains every single mot certificate from new with a corresponding tax disc (where applicable), a full original bookpack(s) , all the keys, invoices for absolutely everything! including a tracker system that the last owner had fitted recently, as he was that paranoid about losing it!.
Bodywork and exterior trim:
As I am sure you can appreciate from the photographs and videos I have provided I am confident that this is one of the finest, most original if not the BEST xj40 Daimler currently available anywhere . These cars are notoriously bad for corrosion literally everywhere and I can not fault this cars Jade green bodywork at all!! It is not unusual to find imperfections in the bodywork of even the best cars or even some slight pitting or dents in the chrome - I can not find anything on this car! the wheel arches and sills are free of any previous repairs also. It’s as genuine a car as you will ever find and a car that will be happily at home on any show circuit this summer (current restrictions permitting!)
Interior:
This is just as you would expect it to be when it rolled off the Browns Lane production line back in late 1994. The original owner has cherished this car and passed on his love for it to the next few enthusiast owners since it arrived back in the UK . The headliner is absolutely perfect with no signs of the glue detaching itself from the cloth. All the tactile surfaces : door cards, walnut veneers and cappings, dashboard, display panel, buttons, carpets are all without fault or any sign of wear whatsoever. There are wooden over rugs in the cabin and the carpets below are simply as new! I know I sound like I am waxing lyrical about this car but its difficult to convey how nice it is in text and also how delighted I was when it turned up!
Mechanical Condition:
As you would expect with such a well cared for car cosmetically the mechanical condition is no different, it drives without fault and the regular service history demonstrates just how well maintained it has been. If you study the under bonnet pictures you will get an idea of how meticulous each of the owners have been. On test drive there are zero issues that have become apparent and everything both mechanically and electrically works exactly as it should.
