HERE is my 1950 MG YA sports saloon, an ultra rare sight these days. Indeed they were rare enough back in the day with only around 6, 000 or so YAs actually built!
This proud old girl is in a delightful condition which would not be described as concours, but more like retaining a pleasing patina. That is to say she is pretty - without a doubt - and solid too. She has a superb interior with lovely red leather and fine wood. Her engine is the correct spec XPAG 1250cc and has been re-conditioned. Indeed there is very little not to love about this rare and oh so typically British sports saloon. Perhaps some areas of her paintwork reveal fine micro blistering and some imperfections but, in my opinion, none of this detracts from her overall beauty and eye catching appeal.
There is a large history file with her including correspondence between one of her owners and the MG Car Club Y Register just seven years ago. This tells us how genuine she is and that she has also had a replacement correct spec engine.
This rare MG model offers 4-seater classic motoring for those who are admirers of the marque but are not too struck on driving an open top 2-seater from the same era. Her V5 states just 6 former keepers since 1950 with the previous owner acquiring her just ten years ago. That equates to her having a mere five owners during the first 60 years of her life.
All in all, a top class opportunity to acquire an MG model that you are probably only ever likely to come across on a show ground. I think she is a total delight.
