1947 Rolls-Royce Silver Wraith Sedanca de Ville by H. J. Mulliner , Chassis WTA49, Registration JGW916 ( to be applied for ) - one of only thirteen built with this body style.
This rare and elegant coachbuilt Rolls-Royce is in very sound original condition having been in long term ownership for over 50 years . It has recently been re-commissioned by the well known Rolls-Royce specialist Harvey Wash Ltd with invoices totalling in excess of £7, 500 . It has black coachwork which is mostly original , showing its age in places but has a wonderful lustrous shine . The Sedanca roof mechanism has been sealed shut but all the catches and fittings appear to be present and hopefully could be put back into working order. The interior seats are leather to the front with original fitted cloth covers and West of England cloth to the rear . To the rear it has an electric division, folding picnic tables and jump seats and the original central H. M. V radio. All the chrome work including the splendid Lucas P100R headlamps is in good order and overall the car has a wonderful presence and patina one only finds with original, un-restored cars.
Following its extensive mechanical re- commissioning we are informed it is driving well and has just had a new Mot test certificate. It still carries its original number plate which will need to be re-applied for with the DVLA , but is supplied with an old style logbook and other supporting evidence which will help to support the application. It also has its original key and main tools including the jack. A rare classic Rolls with great potential and charm which is now driving nicely and ready for the summer motoring season.
