Despatched from Austin’s Abingdon factory on 15th March 1963 this Austin Healey 3000 is a final production example of the much coveted 3000 MkIIA model. The MkIIA models feature the same wrap around windscreen and pram style hood of later MkIII cars whilst retaining the beautiful early car interior in all its stylistic minimalism.
This particular MkIIA, NWT 816A is freshly finished in its original colours of Healey Blue Metallic with Ivory Duotone after a high quality repaint was completed in September 2020 with just 100 miles since. At the same time the car received a new Blue Everflex roof, refinished Aluminium Silver wire wheels with new Vredstein tyres and new a stainless exhaust.
Inside NWT 816A has Black interior trim and a Black carpet set all in good solid condition as part of a prior light refurbishment a few decades ago. The instrumentation is functioning and all gauges are correct 3000 MkII originals.
In 2021 we have given the car a major service to the suspension, brakes, carburettors, fitted a new battery and completely re-wired this Healey with a new loom. As such this is a very nice driving Healey with good performance, a smooth gearbox and sweet handling.
