The 412:
There were only 576 412’s made by Ferrari. Of these 576, there were 85 UK RHD models, with only 61 still on the road, making them a serious contender for the last under-valued Ferrari model around.

The 412 was introduced in 1985 and was a technically improved and modernised version of the classic 365 GT4 and 400, whilst still retaining a timeless and elegant shape. With a displacement of nearly 5 litres, the V12 engine now produced a healthy 340 bhp and Bosch ABS was available for the first time in a Ferrari. The Ferrari 412i is the ultimate version of the 400-series of four-seat Grand Touring cars and remains highly respected for its performance, luxury and ease of operation.

This 1986 Ferrari 412 Automatic is an elegant and practical grand tourer, and a prime candidate to take pride of place in a collection. Equipped with a fuel-injected 4. 9-litre V12 engine that starts and runs smoothly, it is paired with a three-speed automatic transmission.

While the styling often splits opinion, the 400/ 412 design was a favourite of renowned motoring journalist L. J. K. Setright. Writing in CAR magazine in period, he described it as “one of the few most beautiful, and one of the two most elegant, bodies ever to leave the lead of Pininfarina's pencilling vision”.

Accompanied by its original handbook and various documents for original appliances, a toolkit and a good history file, this Ferrari 412 is a well-documented car that is ripe to take place in a collection. It is an enjoyable modern classic.
