Beschreibung
The Austin 7 or baby Austin was produced between 1923 and 1939. It was sold, licenced and copied all over the world and produced with a variety of body styles. They remained a regular sight on UK roads well into the 50’s and after the war many were converted into specials and racing cars.
This car is a 1934 Austin 7 saloon. It has been “nut and bolt” restored and is best described as close to perfect. The engine bay, underside and interior are in beautiful order and the paint finish and upper body are as good as we have seen on a pre-war car. It is running on 17” wheels which allow better cruising and we have just fitted four new “Longstone” tyres but it is in otherwise standard order and the original trafficators are fully working.
It’s impossible not to fall for this outstanding car when you see it, due to its condition. It’s worth noting that it would cost substantially more than the asking price to re-create and the original registration number “ BEV 765” has been variously valued at £3k to £5k although, after 87 years it would be sacrliege to remove it!
