1968 ('69 model year) ID19 B - upgraded to ID20 engine (DSuper), 4 Sp Manual.
LHD, south of France origin, hugely overhauled.
A rare 1969 ID19B with the rare one-year-only all-black version of the 'second' dashboard. Features: self leveling headlights, directional 'steering' spotlights, Secondary air horn, heated rear window. Height - adjustable driver seat. A pre-70s example, it has the stainless steel trims around the headlights and front indicators that became plastic-chrome from 1970 to the end. All 1969 Ds have a temperature gauge as standard. A '69 D of any type. Colour is Stellar White and the roof has been repainted by a previous keeper in a gloss black which I actually quite like.
I have been restoring for three years and it has been on the road throughout. We drove to the Citroen 100 year annivesary in Coventry from Glasgow and took part in the round-Coventry drive and park-up and on holiday trips and Drive-It day events. Was MOTd in 2018, historic vehicle tax so exempt from MOT currently.
Work: The need to replace the starter ring gear nececcitated the engine removal and hence, the clutch and engine seals, engine breathers and timing chain, cylinder head gasket, exhaust manifold etc. and clean the engine surrounding areas.
Additional right hand (passenger) air blower and HiFi system.
Now simply needs the bodywork fixed up properly.

New engine oil pressure switch and wiring
'123' Electronic ignition distributor (original distributor included)
new spark plug leads (Bougiechords)
Rocker cover gasket and 4x sparkplug tube O rings
Water pump
New, clutch plate, thrust bearing, flywheel bearing, camshaft bearing and seal
Replacement starter ring gear

replacement door window rubber seals
4x tyres and tubes (2018 but only 7000miles)
replacement rear light lenses (upgraded to Pallas type)
Fully reupholstered seats (upgraded to Pallas type)
New sill lower covers (DS type)

MP3/ USB modern head unit (easy to remove)
2x front 4" 2 - way speakers, 2x rear 6" subwoofers and 2x tweeters with cross overs fitted. front speakers barely visible in lower dashboard ends, Tweeters in rear C pillars at raised level for best sound.

new full length front to rear fuel pipe
Front to rear 8mm copper pipe for potential future LPG fuel system fitted.
Upgraded front seatbelts to inertia reel type (replaced static type)
New old stock body side rubbing strip (actually has CX Athena strips fitted and I had to search a lot to find one for the missing door strip)

Modified parts and overhauls:
auxilliary RH blower fan fitted (normally only fitted to RHD Ds)
Rebuilt front and rear suspension system height correctors and overhauled contact points and linkages
All return hoses for LHM hydraulic system tank refitted with tight ligorex bands.
Replaced HP pump
cleaned heater matrix
Overhauled heater control valve
Relay fitted for ignition circuit
LED boot light in addition to original light.
Original rear indicator plastic 'trumpets' replaced with stainless steel of ID20/ DSuper/ DS20
Replacement carburetor rebuilt, refaced and ultrasonic clean
Engine room, undertray, brake air ducts and L & R wheelarch inner panel cover areas all cleaned heavily.
Boot area inspected for corrosion and cleaned up and painted to preserve.

Bad points:
Paintwork was badly repainted in the past and some bad areas of body repair that are visible. Improved with 3000 and 6000grade wet sanding. Still presentable overall but it is the next main task for the car.
Heated rear window element isn't working although the electric circuit itself works.
Sill upholstery worn on driver side
1x swivelling headlamp reflector is a bit degraded although light output still good.
headlamps dipped beam is still LHD pattern.
interior roof headlining is missing (although a previous keeper has trimmed it in sponge underlay).

Overall a good D with no chassis rust and lots of upgrades, Polly has had the work done where it counts (chassis and mechanicals) basically a project more than half finished. Open to offers. Located in Glasgow and will be at the National and DS rallies in July this summer.
