Mitsubishi L300 panel van 2. 0 petrol 5 speed with POWER STEERING
First registered in October 2000 and was sold as a brand-new van to, Thorne& Marshall ltd in Reading. the van was the business directors personal van for business and as you will see when he retired, he kept the van. It was transferred into his own personal name and then used as his privately owned vehicle for when ever he needed to use a van.
It has one former keeper on the logbook, Thorne and Marshall first owner, the second is Mr Thorne himself. (That is, it) so in short as near to being a one owner van as you can possibly wish for apart from no former keepers of course!
The van came up for sale a few months ago and I was lucky enough to buy it,
It did need some attention to details, and that is what I like to do, so since the van has been in my custody and control, the following works have been carried out to get the van back up to a lovely condition as you can see in the pic
THE FIRST THING I WISH TO POINT OUT IS. THE REAR TAIL GATE IS NOT OFF COLOUR, LIKE IT LOOKS IN THE PHOTOS, it is simply the way the sun light is hitting the van. Camera’s do lie.
The Clutch was just starting to slip. A full brand-new clutch has now been fitted. I remember from the old days if a car had done 70’000 it should have been getting ready for a clutch. This vehicle was bang on time for a clutch, the old one is in the back with the receipt for the new one that been fitted.
There was a little play in the n/ s/ f wheel, we checked this and found the bottom ball joint was poor, it has been replaced.
The engine rocker cover bolts were loose hence a small oil weep down the back of the engine. This has been rectified no more oil leak.
The wiper blades were junk, now replaced.
The number plates were from when the van was new they were in poor condition as noted on the MOT history (NEW IDENTICAL PLATES have been made and fitted with the garage name on them still)
The bodywork was incredibly solid as it still is however it did have some car park dinks and dents dotted around the bottom, also some stone chipping on the front panel.
This paint work has been re done to a high standard and corrected I was insistent that the colour match was a hit not a miss. I do have before and after photos for the buy to take with them to shoe it was not a rot box.
The break pipes have been replaced where needed, the underside of the vehicle has been checked and double checked for condition and I can con confirm its all good.
The Tyres were ok ish, but old and cracked IVE HAD A BRAND-NEW MATCHING SET OF FOUR FITTED LAST WEEK
A FINISHING TOUCH the wind defectors were fitted
The drive is absolutely brilliant, (it’s a 2. 0-liter petrol with a five-speed box, in short it goes like it’s been shot, (not that I drive fast, it just takes you by surprise the first time you pull away in the van, WOW Mr retro My first thought was, I didn’t see that coming.
Surprising fact Now, THIS VAN HAS POWER STEERING. Yet it still has that retro Japanese van feel when you drive it.
Now this van has been through our hobby work shop (we’ve 30 years’ experience in working with older vehicles) I honestly think this L300 will no doubt be one of the best remaining in the UK, after all, most of these have been exported by now.

71000 miles from new with some service history
The vehicle is 21 years old in 4 months so then can be insured as a classic car/ van
The drive is superb, the body is remarkable for one of these, the interior is particularly good.
It will come to the new owner with a full 12-month MOT.
