Motodrome offer for sale this 1959 example of the ever-popular Land Rover Series II, this one an 88in petrol model with overdrive.
This one seems to be a rather early 1958-built example, chassis number 135
Spec-wise it seems to retain most of it’s early features including rotating knob vent flaps, sprung steering wheel, deep modesty covers, flat front panel, and pyrene fire extinguisher.
Also fitted with: overdrive, a matching set of 4 BFG all-terrain tyres on black modular rims, twin rear bench seats making it a 7 seater at a pinch, extra gauges, Smiths flat heater, and towbar with electrics.
Odometer reading 95000 miles. It’s fitted with a later 11H-prefix 2. 25 5-bearing military-spec motor, that had a Turner Engineering cylinder head fitted in 2018, and has recently undergone conversion to SU carburettor. The last but one owner spent a lot of time over lockdown getting this one right, including a service and all new ignition leads etc
It comes with a big sheaf of history and bills, including lots of detail of previous owners.
