1953 Austin A40 Somerset 23, 000 miles recorded believed correct , An MOT from 1977 records the mileage @ 19, 115 . Superbly original floor pans , Quarter rear door edges , Boot floor etc . Beautiful Black body work with high gloss finish . Some remedial paint work has been undertaken at some time but the metal work appears very original as does the original red rexine seating . Re carpeted at some point and in very good condition . A good 30 mile trip out found the 1200 cc motor to maintain excellent oil pressure and no overheating was noted . The column change gear change operated satisfactory and the clutch was good . A really charming British 50, s Saloon , As the sale brochure used to say "The Dependable Austin" .
