Description

This Alfa Romeo Alfasud Ti Quadrifoglio Verde was first registered on 28th January 1983 and has been under the same family ownership since 1993. She is presented in Rosso red with a vinyl and cloth interior trim and boasts a raspy 1. 5 boxer engine producing 105bhp through a five-speed manual transmission. The Quadrifoglio Verde (Green Cloverleaf) was Alfa Romeo’s performance-topping Alfasud and, at the time of its release, was considered Italy’s rival to the Golf GTI. In addition to its uprated engine, the Alfasud QV bares several distinctive features to signify its sporty status, including 14-inch Speedline alloy wheels, twin-headlights, spot lights, a rear spoiler and ‘Ti’ flecked seat covers in black and red. This example also has a fitted sunroof – a factory option at the time of production.

Spending its first twelve years as a daily driver, the car later retired to life as a classic toy, with recurring periods spent in storage. The Alfasud was restored circa 1995 and in 2009, with an odometer reading of 91, 987, was put into dry storage. She was recommissioned earlier this year with the odometer being 92, 015 at the point of the MoT test.

Showing no signs of accident damage, this Alfasud is a remarkably sound, solid example. Nearly £4, 000 has recently been spent on recommissioning works to include new Weber 40IDF carburettors and cambelts, a reconditioned driveshaft and alloy wheels, rolling road assessments and a comprehensive service carried out by classic Alfa Romeo specialist Thorobred Cars. As result of these works, the 1. 5 boxer engine performs impeccably with a current power output of 114. 2hp – some 8. 8% more than factory specified. A comprehensive history folder accompanies this Italian hot-hatch with receipts and MoT test certificates dating back to the point of registration and confirming the mileage to be correct.

The Alfasud is considered one of Alfa Romeo’s most successful models with over a million examples produced between 1972 and 1989. It is believed that there are fewer that 100 registered ‘Suds left in the UK, making this QV a rare and highly sought-after survivor.
