Mars Red Mk1 Vw Caddy that is now sadly up for sale so I can finance my next personal project. This is 100% rot free never welded & doesn't need any welding. It retains 90% of its original paint & when I set out to put it back on the road I never had any intention to restore such a lovely original truck with bags of character. Everything on the truck is 100% original including lovely original rear bumpers & original mirrors etc etc etc & I spent a long time looking for the right parts that were missing. It's had an axle flip on the rear & coilovers on the front & running freshly painted "original" 15" G60 steelies with brand new nankang sport tyres all round. It can easily be reverted back to stock & i am prepared to do that for the asking price as I have all the original parts with it apart from the original wheels. When I got the truck the engine was missing & being originally a 1. 6 petrol I managed to source a low mileage (42k) engine & fitted a new cam belt, water pump & gave it a full service also. I then fitted a weber carb & mated it to an 020 5 speed box & it runs & drives lovely (& i do have the low mileage 42k 4 speed box to come with the sale).
Here's what's been done.
All new brakes including new front calipers, discs, pads, hoses, brake pipes, rear cylinders & shoes, oh & new handbrake cables. Basically all stock but brand new.
New exhaust.
All new wheel bearings.
New Radiator.
All new interior switches.
Engine has had new cam belt, weber conversion, plugs, points, leads, distributor cap, rotor arm, oil change & filter, air filter, 020 5 speed box fitted with fresh oil, new water pump, new fuel hoses throughout the truck & new fuel filter. There's probably something I forgot but its probably been done.
New battery.
New rear shocks & U bolts.
All new earth leads.
Fuel tank removed, inspected, flushed & refitted with new hoses.
New driveshaft boots.
New Front & rear window seals & genuine vw glass all round.
New Newton caddy door cards.
New "expensive" deep pile black carpets.
Fully dynamated (well equivalent cheaper version) cab floors, doors etc.
Wiper blades, number plates, passenger wing repainted as original was missing.

Please note the steering wheel is not included in the sale, it was a present from my Mrs & will come with the stock steering wheel fitted back on.

The price is firmly £8500 o. v. n. o. as i have put over £3000 into it in parts alone & a good few weeks labour on top of this to get it to where it is now.
It does need a couple of little bits doing that I just havnt got round to sorting that are very minor things, dash cluster lights needs bulbs, needs a stereo fitting or put a dash blanking panel in if you choose not to fit one. ????
I have a lift at my shop so can be easily viewed underneath & checked over, no problem.
It's a shame to see it go but I want my 61 mini project to get going.
