Motodrome are pleased to offer this charming 1952 Land Rover Series 1 80in softtop, in 7 seater configuration
An original UK car, this one is fitted with 2000cc IoE engine, the rare aluminium bulkhead, a matching set of 600x16 tyres and rear bench seats.
As you can see, this one is in the bare Birmabrite. It was acquired by the last owner, a serious Series 1 enthusiast, in 2017. Like many Series 1’s, it was sound, original, but had terrible paintwork. He set to removing the years of poor paint back to the bare metal with a view to a full respray, but having stripped it to the metal, decided it looked rather good like that, (helped by the alloy bulkhead) so left it as is. As we've been given a selection of old pictures showing it painted (badly) I have to say I concur with his view.
It’s fitted with a very healthy 2. 0 petrol engine, and the correct type gearbox and axles.
Odometer reading 4000 miles (which is clearly in correct and hence should be disregarded).
Previous owner tells us it’s an ex War Department vehicle.
Drives uncannily well for an 80in, with good steering, ride and brakes. Ready to use and enjoy as is, or paint it if you must!
On our own website, you’ll find our usual 2 videos: a walkaround appraisal, and driving impressions.
