I bought this special edition (matte grey paint) top of the range MiTo new from PDH Cars in Hassocks, my local Alfa dealer. The 1. 4 turbo petrol engine has a punchy 170bhp yet averages 40mpg - quite impressive!
This car has been fantastically reliable over the 7+ years, the only hiccups being a sticky rear brake caliper, and the Stop-Start function seems to have stopped working (possibly due to low battery charge as a result of sporadic use) - it is equally at home either round town, on twisty country lanes, or cruising on motorways at 70+mph.....
The TCT gearbox is brilliant - extremely smooth gear changes & you can either leave it in "N" driving it like a regular automatic, use the flappy paddles on the steeering wheel like an F1 driver, or shift the lever sideways & use the sequential shift like a touring car racer!
The Alfa embossed seats are very supportive, hard wearing & also very comfortable. The carbon effect interior is a lovely place to be & is in great condition.
The Alfa DNA system has 3 settings:
A = All weather
N = Normal
D = Dynamic
In "D" the throttle response is sharper, the brakes more responsive & the steering more loaded.
The boot is surprisingly roomy & the rear seats fold 30/ 70 completely flat, so it's quite practical too!
Only minor defects are a couple of small parking scratches front & rear and some kerbing on the 18" alloys.
