1968 Ford Lotus Cortina Mk2
We at Duke have a huge soft spot for these Mk2 Lotus Cortinas My paternal grandfather owned one when new and, whilst I never got to see it, my father offer recounts tales of the the “Thwarty” carbs singing at full chat along the then newly opened M4 flyover
This particular Mk2 was supplied new on 07/ 08/ 1968 and finished in our favourite scheme, Ermine White with the Green stripe. Today, the car has covered 84, 975 miles and presents very well throughout. The car is a perfect candidate for an enthusiast owner who wants to just get out and drive.
In 2021 Andy Morrell, on Behalf of the Lotus Cortina register, certified the car as a genuine example of a 1968 series one Mk2 Cortina Lotus. Aside from an upgraded starter and larger free flow exhaust, Andy remarked that all other components including the interior, drive train, suspension and brakes are correct for this year and model of the Cortina Lotus.
Accompanying the car is a sizeable folder containing, in addition to the authenticity certification, a plethora of bills and invoices from over the years. Amongst this history is a rolling road dyno print out showing the car making 128bhp.
As with all of our cars, we have a digital file available upon request containing numerous photos, walkaround videos and the car’s history. The car is available to view by appointment at our West London showroom. Please do not hesitate to contact us with any questions or for more information.
