Description
The Defender series was introduced in 1983 to feature a Range Rover-derived coil spring suspension, permanent 4WD as well as numerous Series III carry-overs including plastic radiator grille, plastic instrument safety dash, front-of-driver gauges and full synchromesh gearbox. Styling upgrades included single piece windscreen, redesigned cabin roof and wide wheel arches.
The Defender 90 offered was manufactured in Solhull plant in 1988 for the Greek market and benefits from Series III-introduced carburetted 3. 5lt V8 of 8. 31:1 compression ratio coded '24G' to power the 93in wheelbased 1. 5 tons. Largely unrestored, the body was recently treated with a respray in the original Mid Grey and the engine was totally overhauled less than 1000km ago.
