With all the usual GTi specification the Anniversary edition came equipped with:

• red stitched leather steering wheel and handbrake gaiter
• red hand brake release knob, and, silver instrument dials
• red piping along edges of floor mats
• red stripe along bumpers
• red brake callipers
• 16" x 7" split rim BBS RS 722 alloys,

Recent work include within the last 12 months, cam belt and water pump, rear discs, pads, bearings and callipers and what is almost classed as an essential upgrade, fully adlustable coil over conversion, and what an improvement that makes!

A little more about the 20th Anniversary 16v Golf GTi...
Volkswagon produced just 1000 of these special edition 3 and 5-door GTi Anniversary models in 1996/ 7, as a celebration of 20 years of the fabulous 'hot hatch' Golf GTi. Originally sold in just 6 colour schemes, only 600 x 8V models were produced, 250 x diesel models and 150 x 16v models. Of the original 150 x 16v models, our checks show that only 15 were still on the road in 2021 - a further 62 showing as SORN - which means Black Betty is becoming a rare gem on the UK roads.
