1973 MG Midget Mk111 RWA Roadster 1275cc 4 Speed Manual. Showing 48, 410 miles. Modifications include lovely Metallic Blue Paint, Weber Carburettor, Roll Cage and Harnesses, Minilite 13 inch Alloy Wheels, Panasonic Radio / CD, Clifford Remote Alarm, CTEK Battery Charger, Interior Lights and Alternator Conversion. This Midget is a huge amount of fun to drive, sounds very perky, has very direct steering and accommodates 6 foot tall occupants, it would be perfect for classic road rallies or tours or for taking to period events such as Goodwood Revival. Jeremy Clarkson rallied a Austin Healey Sprite (similar to a Midget) around Mallorca on Top Gear which shows what fun these are for such a small and light motor car. This is a rare Round Wheel Arch Midget which many consider to be the most desirable, only produced from 1972 to 1974, they have a detuned version of the Mini Cooper S engine which due to only weighing around 700 kg makes these surprisingly fun to drive, very different to a MGB at 1, 100 kg.
Metallic Caribbean Blue Coachwork which shows some Green / Turquoise tones in bright sunlight, with Black Interior, Soft Top Roof and Hood Tonneau.
PPJ 631L, Road Tax and M. O. T. Test Exempt, last M. O. T tested in 2017 at 45, 978 miles. We have M. O. T. tests back to 1993 at 24, 918 miles and also have Road Tax discs back to 1999. London ULEZ exempt so perfect for nipping around the city.
Registered 28th March 1973, owned since 2011 at 35, 987 miles.
This MG is in superb condition and needs no immediate expenditure, it is just waiting to be driven. The paintwork shows very few blemishes and the interior is in very smart useable condition. The engine starts instantly, sounds lovely and performs superbly as do the brakes and the gearbox, it has a surprising turn of speed and is very nimble. The easy to lower soft top roof and good boot space make this a very practical car.
As well as the photographed restoration the owner has since had a reconditioned gearbox fitted, new rear dampers, brake calipers, starter motor, front coil spring, anti roll bar, changed the front grille and fitted a recent battery. A large history file with receipts is included.
