My 1. 3L cvh escort with 64000 miles which I believe to be genuine. 4 speed manual.
The car has had many new parts since I bought it in 2020. I have really enjoyed owning it but its not getting the attention it needs as I'm too busy with other things.
These 1. 3L versions seem to be getting quite scarce now as most people never bothered to look after them unlike the ghia's and xr3i's.
Starts, runs and drives without issue. No smoke, knocks or bangs. Has been completely reliable and I would drive anywhere in it. Engine pulls strongly through a gears.
In my ownership the car has had-
Timing belt+ tensioner
Waterpump
Brake servo
Brake master cylinder
Front brake pads, rear brake shoes
Rear wheel cylinders
Exhaust rear section
Thermostat
Heater matrix
Coolant flush
Brake fluid change
Engine oil flush + filter
Air filter
Plugs, points, leads,
Recon alternator
New battery 3 weeks ago
Rocker cover gasket
In addition I have fitted a set of refurbished cloverleaf alloys with new Bridgestone tyres fitted in 2020 and these have only covered a few thousand miles.
The car will also come with its original steel wheels (tyres on these need replacing though).
Although the car looks like it has a Hella grill, it just has some after market driving lamps fitted to the original one. These have their own fuse and illuminated dashboard switch.
Genuine Ford spoiler fitted to boot lid.
Original useless auto choke removed and a manual choke with Weber carb fitted. Car starts and idles without issue.
No history unfortunately but I have full v5 in my name and two keys.
The car will likely need welding within the next few years in the following areas,
rear end of both drivers and passengers sills.
small patch under drivers seat needed.
Inner rear wheel arch small patch.
Fuse box and battery tray still mostly solid but some surface rust.
Rear wheelarches surface rust also.
However I have seen far worse than this, and as mentioned, the car is mot'd until September, so use and enjoy all summer then put it in the garage for a winter project.
Most of the panels have the odd dent, scratch or paint fade but it still shines up quite well.
Interior generally good apart from a split in the passenger front seat.
Dashboard is uncracked! Radio is not wired in.
Realistically priced to reflect work required.
Difficult to get a hold of a 1. 3L for this money.
