Purchased new from the historic Ford Gratton dealership in Gorizia, founder of the museum commemorating the birth of the first Ford plant in Italy in 1923. 3 owners only, original plate and logbook. The third series of the Escort marks the transition of the average Ford to front-wheel drive and independent rear suspension. It was the first car with a two-and-a-half-volume bodywork. When launched, it was awarded the Golden Steering Wheel in Germany and in 1981 it won the Car of the Year award. It has been the favourite car of many famous people, including Lady Diana, who owned several, and Senna. According to Car & Classic, the largest site in Europe for classic and niche vehicles, the Ford Escort mk3 was the most sought after car in 2021.
