This standard vanguard deluxe with chassis no. V336010dl was first registered on 1 july 1958 and retains it's original 'du' coventry registration number. The car is a phase iii example. These were produced between october 1955 and october 1958 at which time the model received a face lift and was re-named 'the vanguard vignale'. the v5c records the car as a historic vehicle therefore, it is exempt from mot and tax requirements with the added benefit of low cost classic car insurance.
the car is in truly excellent condition all round and underneath. It is mechanically sound, reliable, fully functional, kind on the eye and much admired. It is truly a worry free classic car investment. There are few standard vanguard deluxe cars around and moreover available. Rarer still, an example in this condition !
externally, the deluxe is finished in un-marked vibrant red paintwork which gives off a deep shine. There are no scuffs, scratches or dents. All panels are straight and true. The chrome work is excellent as are the wheels, tyres and glass.
internally, the car is finished in excelled red and white upholstery to compliment the exterior. The interior indeed, the entire car, has the look and feel of a 1950's american vehicle. The carpets, which are also red, are in very good condition. The dashboard, dials, switches, door cards, door furniture and headlining are again in extremely good condition. A very pleasant place to be indeed !
underneath the chassis is is clean and strong with no visible rust/ rot.
the engine, engine bay and boot are clean and tidy. The engine burst into life instantly every time. It is smooth and responsive with an abundance power. The same applies to the transmission and gear box.
in summary, this is an excellent example of a now rare car. It must conceivably be the best, if not among the very best of the remaining examples. Therefore, this vanguard deluxe represents a sound classic car investment aligned to reliable classic car ownership. In essence, a car to enjoy and to be proud of !
the car comes with an original standard vanguard iii instruction book which cost five shillings in 1958.
