For sale due to a need for space and not using this lovely car as much as it deserves. It is a factory original Land Rover 110 County V8 (prior to defender years), the top of the range offering from Land Rover at the time, priced above the Range Rover. First registered September 1985 so will soon be Tax and MOT exempt, as you can see from the MOT history, it has been in pretty much constant use throughout it's life - not a car that's been left unloved for a few years or mucked about with. It has been stored under cover for the first thirty years and we have done the same throughout our ownership and this is clear from the condition of the landy.
It wears it's original paint, Venetian Red, which has a lovely patina and suits the car nicely, as well as the original county and V8 decals. The wheels are a period extra and allow for slightly better tyres than the standard steel wheels, the rear tyres are new within the last few hundred miles and the fronts have plenty of life left in them as well. Included are two spares, one mounted on the bonnet and one on the rear door.
The Interior is also completely factory original including the original Phillips stereo, with brown houndstooth cloth seats and lovely 80's brown carpet to match! Even the headlining is the original, something any defender owner knows is super rare! It was specified as a 6 seater from factory, 3 in the front row and 3 in the middle, I do have frames for adding the 3 seat benches in the rear which would make it a 12 seater should the new owner want that option.
Mechanically it is in very good condition, the 3. 5l Rover V8 is super smooth and really changes the nature of the car when compared to the diesel variants. It has also been converted to run on LPG by RPI Engineering - a name synonymous with Rover V8 engines and LPG conversions.
The car comes with a great deal of paperwork, MOT's and maintenance bills dating from 2001. Also included is the original brochure from 1985 and a certificate of Authenticity from British Heritage. All of this confirms the mileage to be correct at 117, 000.
I doubt there is another 110 County V8 in as original and useable condition as this, and having owned or driven almost every iteration of the defender it is in my opinion the best driving and most comfortable. I should also mention it has never been used for off roading in our ownership and based on the condition of the chassis and bodywork I doubt it has been by the previous owners either.
