Sadly, due to the expansion of the Ultra Low Emissions Zone in London, my beautiful and reliable BMW Z3 convertible is for sale. It is with a heavy heart that I have to say goodbye to this superb little roadster so that I don't get stung for £12. 50 every day to get to work.
It's a 1999, low mileage, rust-free model finished in Gun Metal Grey Metallic paint and fitted with the excellent M44B19 1. 9-litre petrol four-cylinder engine. In the age of stratospheric fuel prices the 1. 9 still has plenty of poke but remains gentler on the wallet than the larger, six-pot engines.
With its low curb weight, responsive handling and rear-wheel drive layout it's an absolute joy to drive and the five-speed manual gearbox is as tight as a drum.
The car has been regularly serviced and has just passed its MOT so has a full ticket until July 2023. The car has recently received a service including oil and air filters and new spark plugs as well as fresh, fully synthetic oil. A new soft top was fitted in 2019 along with a brand new radiator and the car comes complete with a tonneau cover that fits perfectly. The car is ready for top down summer fun!
The outer sills on both sides were suffering from some corrosion and so were professionally replaced and repainted in June of this year and a new nearside front spring was fitted at the same time.
It's a great example of BMW's modern classic roadster with a mere 88, 000 miles on the clock and good service history. With only a few minor blemishes the bodywork is in great condition overall with no dents or dings to speak of and no rust whatsoever.
It drives beautifully and has wanted for nothing during my ownership. The engine pulls strongly in every gear with no flat spots and the brakes remain sharp. The all black leather interior is in great shape with only some minor wear and tear commensurate with its age.
As mentioned earlier, the only reason for selling is the ULEZ charges in London where I live. Prices are starting to rise for these fun two-seater sports cars so now is definitely the time to pick one up.
