A low mile car that has been part of a private collection. The car was purchased from storage after an exhaustive search, with a sub 50, 000 mileage reading. The brief was to keep the car as original looking as possible whilst fully upgrading the mechanics & chassis.
To that end the body was removed from the chassis & the chassis first galvanized & then painted green. The engine was removed & fully rebuilt for which bills are on file. The gear box received similar treatment. Pictures on file & bills show the work being done & the car in bare chassis form. Once all the work was complete the original patinated body was reinstalled upon the chassis. The car thus looks like a totally original & untouched example but runs beautifully starting instanlty and driving well.
Over the last 10 years the car has been used mostly around the estate where the collection lives & also for short local trips to the post office etc. The collection is now being disposed of due to the advancing age of the current onwer who purchased the car over 30 years ago. It shared garage space with Bentleys & a Rolls Royce.
The pressed wheels still have their correct date of manufacture stamping clearly visible. The front badge advertises the car as being a Birmingham product rather then the later Solihull designation. The seat bases have been replaced but the seat backs are original. A good assortment of paperwork & bills / brochures come with the car.
