Description
This is actually a 1 owner car, with 2 keepers the second of whom only registered it to obtain a V5, it has the latest edition V5.
REDUCED, NEEDS A NEW HOME AS I AM DOING AN ESTATE 105E AND NOT INTERESTED IN DOING ANOTHER.
BEEN DIGGING THROUGH MY PARTS, I HAVE THE EXCELLENT 997 I REMOVED FROM THE ESTATE,, AND A VERY GOOD FRONT BUMPER, I CAN OFFER AT COST IF REQUIRED .
Showing 52k, but I suspect 152k, as in 1978 it had a recon engine fitted and the receipt says 37k, if it did 15k in just over 2 years, you do the math lol.
The trim says different though, so who knows? not warranted anyway.
As you can see it sits nice and level on its toes, it rolls freely, rear brakes removed, it was last used nearly 42 years ago, parked up in November 1980.
Lets start with the trim, no carpets but not a lot wrong with the seats or cards that a good clean, detail and re padding will not sort, I would say 90% would be very happy, trailer queens might pick tiny faults, I would be very happy. Not a lot of restoration expense needed there.
It is nowhere near a basket case, but it does need work and here is a detailed list of good and bad, first the good.
That interior.
Roof is very good, couple of little dents
Gutters all good,
Doors def go again with little work.
Bonnet good,
Boot good
Front panel good.
Upper rear panel good.
Chassis rails look fine.
Bulkhead and around screen good.
O/ s rear quarter good, poorly filled little dents
N/ s rear quarter has a poorly fitted arch, poorly filled dents, and damaged by the light, but I would say saveable.
N/ s inner wing good except wing rail and top corner by scuttle.
O/ s inner wing the same and needs a patch next to suspension tower.
Battery tray good.
Floors not bad at all, had 1 patch at o/ s front, needs the same on n/ s.
Rear seat belt mounts, may have been patched or it could be reinforcement? same both sides.
Rear tubs and boot floor good except n/ s rear corner needs a repair.
Rear jacking points look sound.
It is not going to fall apart moving it, the fitted over sills are helping too.
Front wings may be saveable with repair panels above headlight, rear and bottom rear corner,
The bad.
Rear spring hangers are bad,
o/ s inner sill is shot behind the cover sills. Also hole at rear inside car.
N/ s inner sill is better but shot at front jacking point.
Both front jacking point and outriggers seen better days.
Lower rear panel and bumper mounts to jacking points not good.
De trimmed and trim holes poorly filled, trim not present.
Bottom of A posts where wing fixes need work, but in the door shuts are fine.
You are welcome to view, this is only my opinion from an hour digging round it and taking pictures, but it gives you more idea than ads usually do.
I think the floors all repair quite easily, rather than needing replacing, the wings and n/ s rear quarter is up to you to make your mind up.
Really needs inner and outer sills but you may get away with repairing N/ s,
I will put a battery on and see if it turns over the weekend, engine could be good if it does, having been only done 15k. Could be good anyway with a strip and clean.
Delivery can be arranged and I may take an interesting part ex, mk5 Golf Gti top of the list lol.
Project 105e, s are few and far between .
Here to be sold, too many project cars. unless the others sell first, then I will keep it. the others are. No silly offers though, they will be ignored.
I can email more pics, but much better if you view yourself, it is the only way.
