We are very pleased to offer a very striking and rare 1993 Rover Mini Rio. Finished in metallic Polynesian green with a contrasting Spira cloth trim. Only 750 of these fantastic limited edition Minis were made in three colours and only 271 remain meaning that you will probably never see another out on the open road. Many have been modified but this example remains very close to its original factory specification apart from a sexy set of Ultralite wheels with four new tyres. It has only covered 41k in 29 years with three previous owners in that time. It is also accompanied with its original handbook, stamped service book, many previous MOTs and a raft of service history so it has excellent provenance.
This Rio is great fun to drive. This is a carb fed Mini and indeed the last year that carbs were fitted to Minis. The 1275 engine is very healthy and very smooth and has bags of power with smooth performance. The gearbox is also taught and precise which is what you would expect from such a well maintained low mileage example. It has a side exit RC40 exhaust that gives it a subtle Cooper burble. This model also has servo operated disc brakes.
This Mini has a fantastic and well preserved interior that really points to this Mini being cared for. It is all totally original. The Spira trim velour seats are virtually unmarked as are the original carpets and switch gear. It still has its original Rover rubber floor matts and the Rover cassette player which is in full working order. This model also has rear seat belts.
The Mini also has a super solid shell. It was waxoiled from new and it has preserved it very well. It has its original front wings and front panel, untouched boot floor and floor pans, it still has its original sound proofing which is always a great sign. The subframes are also solid and it is body coloured inside the wheel arches. The paintwork is very well presented and virtually blemish free. This is a good looking Mini and the colour gets it lots of attention.
We have fully serviced, checked and driven this Mini and it has a near full MOT so it is ready to be driven and enjoyed.
