Supplied new by Nyetimber Mazda in Chichester, Mrs H. took collection of her new car in 2006 and used it sparingly throughout it’s life, but remarkably had it serviced annually without fail at the supplying dealer regardless of mileage. We are in possession of every single service invoice as well as the original order form, bill of sale and any other invoices for expenditure on the car – it is one of the most comprehensive history files we have ever had for a car. The MOT history is very clean with only the odd minor advisories over the years, the last 3 being clean. Next service is not due until July 2023.
Mechanical Condition
The car starts without hesitation and settles to an even idle. Suffice to say given the mileage, the car drives like a new car with absolutely no faults, quirks, knocks or funny noises. Simply put it would be difficult to find an example in better mechanical condition.
Exterior Condition
The paintwork is in superb condition, and really comes to life when the sun catches the paintwork. This is an accident-free car with consistent panel gaps, factory welds and sealant and devoid of any car park dings along the flanks. There are a few small marks on the front bumper, but hardly noticeable. The wheels are in perfect condition having been recently refurbished to factory finish. The tyres are matching Nexen brand, all with 7mm or more of remaining tread having been replaced around 1000 miles ago. It is unlikely that you will find a better looked after and prepared example.
Interior Condition
As expected, the condition of the interior follows the same narrative as the mechanical/ exterior – it shows minimal wear, everything works and all dash lights go out as they should. Winter driving is made very comfortable by the inclusion of heated seats and the Bose upgrade to the stereo is a welcome improvement on the standard system. This is a very nice environment to be in, whether on short or longer journeys.
Summary
The NC version of the MX5 is a great example of a usable, cost-effective sports car and has sold very well over the years meaning there are no shortage of cars on the second-hand market. However, this example stands out against the competition due to it’s exceptionally low mileage, superb service history and general condition. We are confident it is amongst the best in market.
