EXTERIOR
Finished in an exclusive coat of Capsicum Red (727) this Renault Clio is immediately recognisable as something a little bit special with its Clio V6 rear spoiler, Speedline Turini alloys and 10mm lowered suspension giving this incredible little hot hatch a much more purposeful look. If the unique colour and trim weren’t enough of a giveaway silver Trophy graphics adorn the Clio’s side skirts, clearly identifying this as 1 of 500 Trophies built for the UK market.
INTERIOR
The interior of the Trophy shows as if it had just rolled off the production line. Half leather Recaro Trendline seats give the cabin a distinctly motorsport feel whilst providing fantastic support with no signs of wear or creasing to the leather bolsters or alcantara inserts. The rear fabric bench seats appear to have never even been sat in.
A sympathetically re-trimmed OEM wheel complements the Trophy theme with only the gearstick showing light wear on the selector print.
Being a lightweight Renault means interior equipment is basic but functional with a CD/ FM Radio, electric windows, cruise control and air conditioning covering all the bases for usability and comfort.
ENGINE & TRANSMISSION
Under the bonnet, the Renaultsport-tuned 180bhp 2. 0-litre four-cylinder is well presented and once warmed is a real thrill. With a potent punch past 4. 5k rpm the car comes alive and has sufficient go to upset much more expensive machinery. An Orbisoud exhaust – pioneers of the Clio cup system – offers a subtle enhancement in noise and performance whilst a re-coated intake manifold adds some sports flare to the engine bay visuals.
Gearbox and clutch are easy to operate, with a tactile selection and engagement free of any slack or unnecessary movement. As expected with such a low mileage example mechanical condition of the car it faultless having been serviced by Renault dealers and marque specialists throughout its life.
WHEELS, TYRES & BRAKES
Completing the Trophy aesthetic these splendid 16 inch Speedline Turini Alloys show in fantastic condition wrapped in a set of brand new Michelin Pilot Sport 3’s.
Brakes have been upgraded to the fantastic Wilwood minilite calipers to the front while discs and pads display with no lipping or pitting.
HISTORY FILE
First registered on the 1st September 2005 this terrific Trophy would be serviced solely by Evans Halshaw Aberdeen up to 2012 and 30k miles. The car then found a new home on the south coast where initially Rentech and then K-Tec Racing would take on servicing and maintaining to the highest standard.
This example belonged to the founder of K Tec and as such has been looked after superbly with the last service performed by the Dorset specialists in November of 2021 inclusive of cambelt, water pump, aux belt / tensioner and dephaser kit as well as oil / filter and 4 new Michelin Pilot Sport 3 tyres. Further invoicing supports the love and care bestowed upon this example with the Sachs dampers serviced by BG Motorsport in 2019 and an overhaul of the AC system and Alternator in 2017. As such the car is in excellent health and wants for nothing.
The original service book features 7 service stamps and a whole host of invoicing for parts and work performed is present in the history file. The original tools, jack and spare key are all present and correct.
