1984 Volvo 240 DL B230 manual (BARNFIND)
Here we have a very honest and original early Volvo 240 DL (coffin nose), 2. 3 with manual transmission. Offered on a auction basis with a sensible reserve. 43, 990 miles from new, 1 former keeper, last owner since 1986. Taken off the road due to giving up driving in 2003. We purchased roughly 3 years ago with intensions of carrying out a simple overhaul but this never happened and has sat in a shed since purchase.
Bodywork-
Very good on the bodywork, paintwork looks mostly original, very little corrosion for a 38 year old vehicle. never had any welding and doesnt look to require any.. Rare and early coffin nose front, door bottoms all good and solid, a pillars solid and good, front and back windscreen scuttles rust free. Sills very good. Very minimal blisters to rear arches and also boot wells. Overall paintwork will polish up very well, we have run a buffer over it quickly for the photos.
Interior-
All original and with minimal wear as you would expect for the mileage and age, would benefit from a good shampoo. Very rare dash cluster with the extra 3 gauges.
Mechanical-
Sold requiring full recommission, hasn't been driven on a road since 2003. Engine does start and run nicely, 2. 3 carburettor model. Requires a clutch slave cylinder and brakes need attention as there's no brakes! When we purchased some 3 years ago we did bleed the clutch and it drove fine through the gears but over time the slave cylinder has failed. I can send a video of the car starting and running
Paperwork-
Old style v5 logbook, stating 1 former keeper, last lady owner since 1986.
Original handbooks in correct wallet
Original service book, sadly only 2/ 3 early stamps from the first owner.
