Supplied new in Germany this car came to Ireland when the owner transferred residence in 2004 and has been here ever since. Sparingly used over the last 20 years it has been kept in dry storage and has been preserved in incredible condition throughout.
A letter on file in German from the supplying dealer explains he had to register the car in the dealership name to circumvent forthcoming emission legislation which would have required the fitting of catalytic converters. The first owner purchased the car with zero mileage. Ownership transferred to his son when he passed away.
Car is totally original throughout though both the steering wheel and stereo have been replaced with aftermarket items. The original parts are included in the sale along with a Ferrari branded umbrella and car cover.
The complete book pack is present along with pristine large and small tools and both sets of keys.
The history file contains a copy of the German title along with current Irish registration documents. There is also interesting correspondence present between the owner and the supplying dealer which detail issues the car had early on its life and were fixed by the factory under warranty even though the car was four years old.
Im told this is just one of 3 cars completed in 1989 which followed a fire at the Pininfarina factory which resulted in production of this model being suspended. There were three remaining partly completed cars of which this was one.
