EXTERIOR
Finished in factory Metallic Blue, the paintwork boasts an amazing finish and looks simply incredible. The silver alloy wheels are in pristine condition due to their recent refurbishment. This car has been looked after extremely well and has no signs of corrosion around the engine bay, and in the boot.
INTERIOR
This car is equipped with a grey full leather interior, which has been kept immaculate with minimals signs of wear and weathering. The original wooden trims along the dash also remain in a high gloss finish. The carpets are in excellent condition with no stains or any other sort of marks at all. The carpets inside the boot are clean and show no signs of damp or mold.
ENGINE AND TRANSMISSION
The W126 500 SEC has a naturally aspirated V8 engine, which revs up to 5200 rpm. The engine bay of this car is clean with no rust, and the car starts first try in all conditions.
HISTORY FILE
Car has had two previous owners. The car was first bought by a gentlemen in the forces in July 1989, as they were allowed to buy the vehicle duty free directly from Germany, he subsequently sold it within a few months to Mercedes Benz Birmingham, Gerard Mann with 776 miles. This led to it being sold to its first real owner, who kept the car until November 2000, and did 65000 miles during that period of 11 years. From 2000 onwards, the current keeper had the car and used it sparingly and did approximately 18000 miles in it over 20 years.
Included are receipts for most of the services carried out from 1989 to present, the car also retains its original stamped service booklets, 4 original keys and most MOTs. The car has been maintained for the first 11 years through the main agents on an annual basis up until 2000. From 2000 onwards, the second owner maintained the car himself and there are various receipts to confirm this. Recent work, I received the car with chrome trims fitted to the wheel arches, which I have removed and had them cosmetically painted and polished. The car has no corrosion and has never been welded. The headlining had started to sag and this has been professionally restored by a specialist, at a cost over £1000. It drives extremely well, and pulls smoothly through all the gears and is a remarkable example of this iconic model. It is highly unusual to see such a well preserved example, hence it is in my collection of Mercedes coupes.
