Ferrari's flagship model, the Testarossa supercar, revived a famous name from the Italian company's past when it arrived in 1984. A 'next generation' Berlinetta Boxer, the Testarossa retained its predecessor's amidships-mounted, 5. 0-liter, flat-12 engine, which now boasted a maximum power output of 380bhp at 6, 300rpm, courtesy of four-valve cylinder heads. The new supercar was now capable of reaching a top speed of 180mph.
The gill slats feeding air to its side-mounted radiators became one of the modern era's most instantly recognizable - and copied - styling devices. The Testarossa was a larger car than the 512BB - the increase in width accommodating a roomier cabin and wider tires. The new design managed to combine high downforce with a low coefficient of drag with the absence of extraneous spoilers and other such devices. Despite the increase in size over the 512BB, the Testarossa was lighter than its predecessor. The body was made up almost entirely from strong, lightweight aluminum with the exception of the doors and roof which were constructed of steel. Luxury touches in the well-equipped cabin included air conditioning, tilting steering wheel and plentiful leather. Unlike some of its rivals, the Testarossa possessed light controls and was relatively easy to drive - factors which when paired with its outstanding performance and stunning looks, contributed to an instant and sustained high level of demand.
This highly original, Low Mileage, UK Registered but LHD example, was supplied new on the 11th November 1986 by Crepaldi Auto of Milan to its first owner, Intra Finanziaria SPA, based in Milan. It was ordered in Rosso Corsa over Crema Leather with the optional Black Dashboard and carpets. She was supplied new with the desirable 16" centre lock "Monodado" wheels and Scuderia wing badges, Painted lower sills and lower front bumper finish off the look perfectly. She is matching numbers and everything is nice and correct.
Records show the car received its first service at 2, 000 Kms by Garage A. Cecchin in Italy on the 17th July 1987. The car was then serviced by the same workshop for its 10, 000 Kms service on 2nd March 1989. The car was then exported to Switzerland around 2000. In 2004 the car received its 20, 000 Kms service at Garage A. Donati in Switzerland, at this time the car had covered only 21, 700 Kms. The car was purchased by its previous owner in 2004 and was used sparingly until imported to the UK in 2008. The car was finally UK Registered in February 2011 and has been in the same ownership since. So the last owner has had this car for over 19 years. The car has recently come out of dry storage and went to Rardley Motors who spent £10k doing everything necessary including cambelts and tensioner bearings etc. The car comes with all its owner handbooks and original service book in the correct leather wallet.
This is a beautiful example of the most iconic supercar from the nineties with a super low mileage, ready for immediate use!
