Vehicle history:
The BMW 507, designed by Graf Goertz as a counter-design to the Mercedes 300 SL, is considered the icon of automotive design par excellence. Only 253 examples were built, far fewer than the Mercedes competition. To call a BMW 507 your own is to ascend to the Olympus of classic car collectors.
This 507 Roadster Series II was completed in January 1959 at the BMW plant in Munich and delivered to the American general importer Max Hoffman in New York. The vehicle was first registered to Fadex Commercial Corporation, NY. Other owners are recorded in Staten Island and New York. A first restoration was carried out in the 1990s. The car was painted in black at that time. Several concours participations are known to have followed. In 2021 the owner changed again. He had another Concours restoration carried out and gave the elegant roadster back its original silver-blue color.
