Nut and bolt restored Frogeye with a lot of history, maintenance invoices and photo album of the restoration. Restored and overhauled in the Netherlands by a renowned member of the Austin-Healey club. The Frogeye was then bought by another club member and they owned the Sprite for more than 10 years.
The restoration was then carried out with care and craftsmanship and everything was new, improved or overhauled. There is a binder with invoices for parts worth 12, 300.- and the hours are not counted. The original 948cc engine has been replaced by a completely overhauled 1275 cc engine, the connoisseur knows the qualities of this engine, well known from the iconic Mini and many other British cars. A revised ribcase gearbox is fitted with a longer diff ratio of 3. 9 so less revs on the motorway. Also a smooth diaphragm clutch, new SU hs2 carb's, electronic ignition, a reliable electric fuel pump and a modern alternator. The cooling has also been improved with a heavy duty radiator and a plastic high performance fan. The Sprite has disc brakes at the front and a larger master cylinder. The Sprite is newly painted in the beautiful color "Leaf green" and the paint still looks very nice with a deep shine. Of course, all the chrome has been replaced and especially the fit of the grille is beautiful. The Lucas style spotlights are mounted next to the grille without a front bumper and there are halogen lights in the headlights. The steel rims have been replaced by new Minilite style rims with Michelin tyres.
As you can expect, the complete interior is also in top condition. Everything is new! A beautiful Moto-Lita handlebar and gorgeous green upholstery have been chosen. Green upholstery is typically British and has been a tradition for 100 years at Bentley, Alvis and Rolls Royce, for example. The dashboard has been adapted with a digital tripmaster, an electronic tachometer, a 12V connection and a safe circuit breaker. This Sprite has been taken care of down to the last detail: the trunk has been made lockable and in addition to the black tonneau cover there is a green fabric cover, a very nice suitcase set and bags for the sidescreens. The last owner has also maintained his Sprite excellently, there are invoices available worth ? 3, 600 in maintenance and overhaul.
