The history of this car is fairly unusual. It was sold new by the Citroën agent, Mr Crescia Sr., Garage du Lac in Neuchâtel, to its first owner, who resided in the region. 46 years later, the search for a Pallas in healthy condition on behalf of the current owner led Vincent Crescia to rediscover this car, with its 2. 3-litre DX4 carburettor engine and hydraulically-controlled gearbox, equipped with air conditioning and tinted windows as options. Garage du Lac acquired the car from the original owner, first-hand and in very good condition, with a view to complete restoration. The total restoration of this DS will take two years, and the car will be delivered in its original light grey colour, with a red cloth interior. The photographs of each stage of the work show the high level of finish and detail in the restoration.
The car has only recently been serviced by another leading Citroën professional, SM2A, Jean-Michel Gallet, after 8, 000 km. The air-conditioning works perfectly, abd the car is very smooth to drive, without any noise.
Vincent Crescia is recognised as one of the world's leading specialists in Citroën restoration, if not the best. His work, which has won several awards at the Pebble Beach Concours d'Elegance, is very impressive, with attention down to the smallest detail and uncompromising on quality. His order book is full, and you'll have to be patient to have the pleasure of driving around in a DS that he has restored, unless, that is, you buy this example, which cost its current owner €160, 000! This is an opportunity that is not to be missed by anyone who loves this legendary and top-performing model.
